Overseed & Topdress
Overseeding: Overseeding can solve a lot of problems. Building a thick, strong turf will help build resistance to drought and disease. Overseeding helps crowd out weeds, moss, and unwanted grasses.
- If your lawn is thin, with any bare spots, it’s time to overseed.
- If you have any weeds, and unwanted grasses, it’s time to overseed.
- If you just removed thatch or moss, it’s time to overseed & topdress.
Overseeding in conjunction with De-Thatching & Core Aeration is best, because the seeds will fall into the grooves and aeration holes. Topdressing is then applied to protect the new seed. ACE AERATION uses only the highest quality, local grown turf seed and products. We buy direct to give you the best prices possible.
Topdressing: After placing grass seed down. For optimal germination and best water retention the seed must be protected with some sort of topdressing over the new seed. Especially the turf areas that are bare. We use peat moss or sometimes a soil mixture to cover the seed.

- Creates optimal temperatures for more rapid germination.
- Keeps the birds away.
